California Coastal
Luxury Palette
I created this mood board to set a tone and define points of inspiration for Del Amo's luxury palette. Luxury is subjective and varies greatly depending on the environment and customer expectations. This collection of images harken to American mid-century modern and classic Rome of the same era. The esthetic is both simple and bold, and rich with texture and contrast. The finishes are also natural and expressive. I believe this will be a widely accepted palette for today's luxury customers shopping in Southern California and the Rancho Palos Verdes region.
Colors are both mid-century and classic but also mirror those familiar to beach communities.
Notice that the colors, finishes and textiles chosen for Del Amo, along with the furniture selections, fit the esthetic and mood but do not copy the images. The goal is accessible luxury that feels at home within California coastal communities.
Luxury Area Seating
I selected the furniture, finishes and textiles to capture the vibrant natural beauty of California's coastal plantings, rock cliffs and pebble shores then designed custom carpets and tables to coordinate.
Luxury Court Seating
To fill the vast open space of Center Court with interest, provide seating and address multidirectional circulation I designed custom coral-like bench and over-scaled planters that can be assembled in different configurations for different purposes.

Terrace Palette
This solution creates an attraction to transition from the main floor to below grade. It effectively balances the perceived value of each of the Village entrances.
Terraced platforms cascade along side the escalator to meet the lower level entrance. Each level is furnished with soft seating, lush landscaping and a unique view outside. These terraces are central to main traffic patterns but because they are recessed they serve as a quiet place to get away from crowds and meet up with fellow shoppers.

Innovations
• Lush garden experience
• Varied seating and view points
• Meandering stairs

Combined intelligence is the power and art of our profession. No one person can deliver the strategic thinking and creativity required for real innovation. As with many group endevours inspired talent and great ideas sometimes require clear and experienced direction.
