An Insider's Guide

Wabash Country is a tourism hub and insider's guide for Indiana's Central Wabash Valley.

Provisioners
The Valley has a quiet network of makers, growers, and small-batch producers who’ve been at it for generations. Farm stands with just-picked sweet corn, butcher shops that still cut to order, local honey and preserves that never see a grocery shelf. Whether you’re stocking a cabin kitchen or bringing something home that actually means something, the provisioners here are the real thing.

Down Home Cooking
A good meal here doesn’t come with a reservation — it comes with a screen door and a hand-lettered sign. Tenderloin sandwiches bigger than the plate, biscuits and gravy that end the conversation, and pie made from whatever’s in season. Pull in where the lot is full at noon on a Tuesday and you’ll understand.

Gatherings
The Valley measures its year in gatherings — festivals, markets, pig roasts, and small-town events that have been running longer than anyone remembers. Friday night concerts in a county park. Harvest festivals where the whole town shows up. These aren’t staged attractions — they’re the rhythm of life here, and visitors are welcome at every one.

The Great Outdoors
The Wabash River shapes everything — the land, the light, the pace. Sugar Creek cuts limestone gorges you’d swear belong in another state. Miles of water trail, hardwood forests, covered bridges on back roads you’d never find on a highway map. This is quiet, unhurried outdoor country — bring boots, not a crowd.

Unique Hideaways
Skip the highway hotels. The Valley has restored farmhouses on working land, cabins set back in the timber where the only sound is creek water, and bed-and-breakfasts run by people who’ll draw you a map to their favorite swimming hole. Comfortable, personal, and impossible to find on a chain booking site.

Unique Experiences
Canoe a stretch of Sugar Creek that looks exactly like it did two hundred years ago. Walk a covered bridge built before the Civil War. Tour a family winery planted on land farmed since Indiana was a territory. The Valley doesn’t advertise these things — they’re just here, waiting for someone curious enough to look.

Unique Hideaways

Poolhouse

John and Susan used to host countless pool parties every summer. Once the kids were gone though they didn't see the need to keep it open. Thankful for us they turned it into an overnight stay location. It's like staying in your own resort.

Luxury Tent

Yes, it's a tent. It is much more than a tent however. This overnight stay facility is fully electrified with portable heating, cooling and refrigerator. You haven't camped until you've camped in full luxury. Enjoy fresh air and the creature comforts.

Wedge

This Architectural jewell will change the way you see nature. Step outside and you're fully in the elements. Step inside and you might as well be in a penthouse suite. The volume is expansive and details immaculate. Who knew roughing it could be so on point.

Gatherings

Barn Yoga

Yip, it's yoga in a barn! As we know yoga increases circulation, improves digestion, calms and de-stresses you, and helps your skin glow. Consider how much more invigorating it would be in nature or with a dwarf goat on your back. Join in on the fun!

Country Club

Think social club in country. It's equipped with outdoor seating areas and fire pits. Servers restock a communal bar and food table. Lawn games and music are also available. The rest is up to you. Come spend the evening with friends or make new ones.

Pasture Parties

Pasture Parties are pop up events staged throughout the summer and fall. They are typically announced the week before. Events vary but often include live music and some form of arts, food and drink and a healthy dose of social interaction. Each one is unique.

Dine-In Food Service

Lucia's

Order a pizza truck! Lucia's will come to you during scheduled time slots and cook just for you. Sign up in advance to secure a time and to indicate allergies or preferences. Sign up is only available when booking an overnight stay. Don't wait. This one is in high demand.

Canteen

Canteen is a mobile convenience store that provides freshly prepared foods for cook on location experiences. Order ahead for specific recipes and quantities or call when you're settled to get a drive by. All products are freshly prepared and local when possible.

Bossaer Farms

The farm provides farm to table solutions that come fully prepared, ready for service. Order ahead from a seasonal menu or selected regional recipes available all year long. Canteen provides delivery in case you're missing anything to make your experience complete.
